Heather Neilson

As a Medical Writing Manager at Medlior, Heather is responsible for managing and developing a variety of writing products including research protocols, reports, abstracts, posters and manuscripts. Prior to working at Medlior, Heather earned an Essential Skills certificate in medical writing from the American Medical Writers Association and co-authored over 30 publications in the scientific literature, as well as book chapters and grant proposals. Most recently, Heather worked for 4 years with the Canadian Medical Protective Association writing articles on safe medical care for clinical journals and CMPA Perspective, a trade magazine for physicians.

Previously, she was employed for 14 years as a Research Associate with Alberta Health Services in the Department of Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Research, and for 2 years as an Assistant Chemist in the pharmaceutical industry. Heather holds a Master of Science degree in Occupational and Environmental Health from the University of Toronto; a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Toxicology from the University of Guelph; and a Graduate Diploma in Health: Science, Technology and Policy from Carleton University.
